For many centuries Venice was a crossroads of international Jewish experience and the Venice Ghetto nurtured a thriving Jewish culture. Even though it was a place of segregation, it was a meeting place of many cultures and a rich resource stimulating Jewish cultural life in many other parts of the world.
To commemorate the shaping power of the historic Venice Ghetto, we are establishing the Venice Center for International Jewish Studies.
