Using the artistic, intellectual and cultural resources of Venetian Judaism as well as those of international partners, the Center organizes Institutes, conferences, workshops, seminars, lectures, residences and publications on all Jewish topics, with particular reference to the Italian experience. We help to design specialized programs to serve small groups of creative artists, graduate and post-graduate students, and faculty seminars to promote scholarly research in an evocative environment. We help to organize and/or conduct educational travel and tours in Jewish Venice and Italy.
There are many who dream of living in Venice for at least a little while and who want to learn about Jewish culture in a deep and intimate way. The Center's activities are directed towards scholars, teachers, educators and artists as well as towards students and the general public, Italian and international. Here they can learn about the Ghetto, and the Italian Jewish experience, by studying it experientially.
The Center's activities gravitate around the Ghetto. This permits easy access to some Jewish facilities such as the Synagogues, the Venice Jewish Museum, the Jewish Community "Renato Maestro" Library, the Kosher Club “Le Baltahazar”, the Jewish Community Residence House, as well as lecture halls and classrooms. The facilities (research libraries and classrooms) of the University of Venice and Venice International University are close and open to our participants.
