Check out the Dinner in Venice website, your ultimate Kosher Italian food website run by a true Venetian Jew.
Alessandra Rovati was born and raised in Venice, Italy, and has had a passion for food since a very young age (she is said to have feasted on garlic and chili-marinated herring at 15 months). Alessandra writes about Jewish and Kosher Italian food and teaches kosher Italian cooking; finally, she posts free recipes and how-to’s, offering a glimpse of culinary history, on her website, Dinner in Venice.
Alessandra’s articles and recipes have been published on several magazines and websites including the Jewish Voice, Joy of Kosher, Kosher Inspired, Hadassah Magazine, CulinaryKosher, The Italian New York Daily andThe Jewish Educator. Her Jewish Italian Cooking lesson has appeared on the Jewish Week’s website, and she has been a featured guest on Fox Newsand the Kosher Scene.
This is how she explains why you should be interested in Kosher Italian food:
Because it's true Home Cooking and not elaborate chef-inspired cuisine.
Because Jews have been in Italy since the second century B.C.E. and have had over two thousand years to develop mouth-watering recipes using a variety of delicious local ingredients, now easier to find in our local grocery stores.
Because it's healthy, simply elegant and colorful.
Because with so many vegetables and healthy fats,
you may even lose a couple of pounds.
(And if you don't, at least you will have fun trying!)
